Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

The author

Best-selling children's author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

An official for the company stated: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was taken subsequent to an review of claims about questionable actions directed at female individuals.

The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

He has published over four dozen titles in total, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
