Eyewitness Reports

An area worker, employed in the vicinity, described paramedic and police activity when she finished her work period around 10 PM on Friday.

She characterized the location as "quite chaotic", and said co-workers reported hearing a commotion at about 21:00.

"A lot of co-workers take public transport, ride the tramline... our security is compromised fundamentally, in the downtown area."

Ashley Birks, 25, resident of Stoke, mentioned visiting to Birmingham fairly regularly to see his girlfriend who lives in the city, and was concerned regarding the incident.

"It makes me worried for my girlfriend," he stated.

"She doesn't drive and works at major concert locations... considering something completely unprovoked occurred, you know, it's terrible."
