NFL Recap: Denver Edge Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

During a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 victory over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and specialist Wil Lutz provided the late go-ahead field goal to secure the ugly win.

Defensive Display Seals Contest

Even with recording nine sacks against Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after giving up a safety in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets managed a mere 82 offensive yards throughout the contest.

Nix, who went 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, led a critical 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's 27-yard kick with approximately five minutes left.

Historic Struggles for Jets Offense

Despite their dismal performance, the Jets still had the ball with a opportunity to score a possible victory. However Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 when coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion rather than sending out kicker Nick Folk for a difficult kick.

The Jets quarterback struggled throughout, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets finished with minus-10 passing yards, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," the coach commented following the game.
